not a fan of admins/mods shutting down info they just think isn't true. we're all often wrong. I guess if no server becomes too big it might be ok but there is so far a lefty bias here on mainstream fedi and there could be pressure for all servers to fall in line.

Instead of censoring the information, we usually respond with the facts and evidence. It often turns into a discussion, and propaganda doesn't stand a chance when you have well thought out arguments and evidence.
Note that "censoring information" is different than "banning trolls." If you say something we don't like or disagree with, we'll discuss it. We will even consider your point of view. Both sides can learn something, if they are willing. But we will bring logic and evidence to the conversation, which breaks apart disinformation and propaganda piece by piece.
But, if you are a troll and are harassing people, that is a different story. Even if your information is correct, harassment is against the rules.

what moderation tools?
That highly depends on which fediverse platform you are on.

Qualified yes: We plan to moderate accounts and servers that spread disinfo, it's in our CoC. But that's not a very detailed plan, and if we see larger quantities or qualitatively different disinfo than in the past, maybe more planning would be desirable.
I guess adding moderators would be one plan that could help us deal with a larger or more complex threat.

Misinformation about current events already get swirled around here. Fortunately without an algorithm forcing viral junk in my feed, it keeps most stuff pretty contained naturally.
It’s the algorithm-for-profit that rewards the worse behavior. Hopefully we’ll be able to keep a lot of junk out if we work together here.

I am not an admin/mod, so I did not vote, but my plan is to report and block promptly. Seems to be working so far.
