Just a reminder: If you sell your services or products directly to someone, rather than receive a paycheck, you are a business. I know that is a bad word in some circles, but all independent contractors, freelancers, and self-employed people are businesses... even if they did not register a fancy business name.

Even employees want to get paid for the work they do, so it should not be surprising that people who sell directly to customers want to get paid too.

Personally, I think that everyone should create multiple streams of income, even if they have a job. Being dependent on one source of income makes you vulnerable.

@Scott M. Stolz on point. Having multiple streams of income and side hustles is truly working a free market economy to one’s benefit. Traditional “workforcs” mentality of working 30 years - looking forward to secure pension or and excellent retirement benefits is slavery imo.
