I recently registered some new domain names, and I am considering changing the location of my fediverse accounts.
One consideration is that I talk about a lot of different things, so having different channels might be better for people interesting in particular topics. The other consideration is that I want to use authorship.studio for a different project.
Nothing is set up yet, but I am thinking of using the domain mostly.social for this account (my personal account). The proposed channel name would be scott@mostly.social. I also have loves.tech, which would make me scott@loves.tech which I think is cool. But I would be talking about things other than tech, so mostly.social fits better.
I would move all of my fediverse-related discussions to federated.works (making me scott@federated.works).
And I was thinking of starting a code journal at codejournal.dev which would be posts specifically about development (making me scott@codejournal.dev).
On one hand, having more than one account means I have to check multiple accounts. Although Hubzilla makes it easier since I can clone all of the channels onto the same server. On the other hand, the type of content that I post is very diverse and warrants having multiple channels.
Either way, this channel will change to a new domain name within the next couple of months, since I want to use authorship.studio for something else.
What do you think is better? scott@mostly.social or scott@loves.tech?
