I think a lot of my frustration with some of the “consent based” social networking pushers is the lack of consistency. Those same people don’t want to utilise software that will grant them the experiences they desire, instead they want to argue and fight in an attempt to force others. Why not use #Hubzilla #GoToSocial #CounterSocial and others that have more control? Or join spaces that have allow list federation? #Fedi #Fediverse #Mastodon

@Scott I've actually never heard of #Hubzilla , I'm sorry Scott

If you trace its roots back, it is actually older the Mastodon and ActivityPub. It was never really promoted well, and the UI has become dated. But it has awesome features under the hood. It's a diamond in the rough, and my goal is to make it shine.

Hey not bad, not bad at all!

Thanks. Ideally, I find someone who has design experience to make it look prettier. I am good enough to take someone else's UI and convert it to a Hubzilla theme, but I'm not really talented enough to create my own UI. So right now this is mostly a mashing of Tabler and Redbasic HTML & CSS.

My ultimate goal is to transform the UI. For example, the notifications system is great for telling you about new posts, but isn't very good at helping you find old posts. So I want to create an inbox, where you can see read and unread posts. And while Hubzilla has Facebook-style Discussion Groups (which it calls forums), I want to give admins the option to use a more traditional forum view, with a list of topics and threaded discussions.

That means I will have to create some new addons for those new features, with a new UI.

A work in progress, but I think a new and improved UI will help the project a lot.
Sorry, you have got no notifications at the moment...
