About the Channel im.allmendenetz.de/@ehma
This pages are a demo site by allmendenetz.de for demonstrating how Faircamp - a static site generator for audio producers - and Hubzilla - a #CMS for the Fediverse - can work together as one system to present music in a network like the Fediverse.
By the decentralized #Fediverse network millions of attendees have the option to get in contact with you, follow and commend your #music releases and read all your news without depending on a single network provider.
With #Faircamp it is quid easy to generate beautiful looking webpages on your pc for presenting your audio files in the internet.
With #Hubzilla audio producer get the option to host this webpages easy on the web and in the Fediverse so that also a combination with your personal network news channel can be easy realized. Also they get the option to distributed files with the fine graded permissions system of Hubzilla. So not every thing has to be public and e.g. special downloads can be granted just to selected contacts and also connect to the Hubzilla #shop app.
In an ideal case an audio producer would install such a system under an own domain but also the option to host several artists under one hub URL may be interesting for some.
So for this demo site we were looking for a special musician and so we found the lovey music pieces by ehma which are all licensed under copyleft licenses.
Have a look, listen and enjoy.
Definitely we are fatigued with the fact thereโs no good solution for music discovery that everyone uses, so we do have to be kinda everywhere at once
limited website-building knowledge
if more folks worked together and combined ideas
Ghost is working on federation as we speak though, so that can wait :)
streaming and commenting should be made available on the same page.
I am hoping that ActivityPub, which powers Mastodon/fediverse, will grow in popularity with larger tech companies, much like with Meta (for better or worse) and we will one day get to only needing one account for social web
yeah, hopefully i can host my own #Faircamp on Hubzilla instead of running a separate site as of yet (https://fc.kliklak.net ) . Very cool!

A self host-able federated Discord style thing is something I hope will happen!
What real world problems exist that all these new ideas solve?
I still think a lot of these ideas sound cool but I'm not sure what real-world problem they're actually solving.sorry, was just trying to understand what you meant by this.
What real world problems exist that all these new ideas solve?
There are no real โone size fits allโ answers, nothing that good tech alone can solve. We just have to keep advocating for more open access to discovering and curating new music
mastodon has a terms of service, as does wordpress. it's not like by self-hosting we avoid this stuff.
