I'm not certain music will do it. The sound of mosquitos or electrical discharges might do the trick. Or possibly predatory bird sounds.

I read that they hate loud noises, flashing lights, and certain smells.

I've been playing hawk sounds for the last 30 minutes and pointed a flashlight into the attic and put it on strobe mode. And have been banging on the ceiling anywhere I heard them make noise.

I am not sure if that scared them off yet, but they are not making any noise.

If this doesn't work, I'll have to escalate.

@Scott M. Stolz None of those genres will help there. Japan noise could, or contemporary electronic music. I did get rid of racoons in our attic myself, by using a Eurorack oscillator creating a random frequency sweep ranging from near subsonic to near ultrasound.
Used a 400 Watts active studio speaker placed at my ceiling right underneath their nest, running randomly during 36 hours and at > 100 dB volumes.
When do squirrels sleep? It may help to hit them with sound, when they are normally sleeping.

Laughing... I did something very similar several decades ago with an apartment neighbour that I had already warned once. "You really do not want to get in a stereo war with me. You'll lose." He took that as a challenge and put on some loud music at around 10pm. I used a bass guitar and a square wave generator as the sound source, with the bass strings de-tuned below audible frequencies, the square waves at about 10 hz and a couple of McIntosh amps pumped into 4 JBL D-140 speakers. So similar power levels, and the JBLs are pretty efficient and pushed a lot of air (*) per watt of input.  I just set the de-tuned bass in front of the speakers and let it feed back on itself with the square waves keeping it in feedback. It was pushing over 120 db and the walls were 'throbbing' with nearly an inch deflection during the sub-sonic wave peaks. "Whoom-whoom-whoom-whoom". I left and went out drinking and came home the next morning to turn everything off again. Never heard another sound from upstairs ever again.

(*) Came home from an AC/DC concert with some friends about six months earlier and the same JBLs in the back of my Ford van and a 40 watt booster on the car stereo. My friends told me to turn it down. It was louder than the bloody concert.
