For those who are eligible to vote in the upcoming U.S. election, please vote, regardless of your political affiliation.
For independents, you are the ones that decide this election. Both the Democrats and Republicans are minority parties. Nationwide, each has less than 50% of the population voting consistently for them. Your vote truly makes a difference.
And for those who are thinking about not voting, consider this. Many jurisdictions, such as mine, have other things on the ballot, like whether to raise your taxes. It's not just the presidency at stake.
Also consider this: Your vote for a third party candidate can be seen as a protest vote. And it also affects whether they get campaign funding for the next election. Vote for them even if you think they won't win.
And, if you are in a state or county where you are outnumbered by people who support the other party, vote anyway. Register your protest as well.
With the volatility of this election, you have Democrats voting Republican and you have Republicans voting Democratic. You never know how things will swing this year. Make sure your voice is heard.
